Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using the FamiVault or FamiVault Link mobile applications (the "Service") operated by Local Family Vault ("us", "we", or "our").
1. Local & Encrypted Nature of the Service
FamiVault and FamiVault Link are designed as privacy-first applications. Your data is encrypted locally on your device. For FamiVault Link, data is transmitted via an end-to-end encrypted relay and is never stored permanently on our servers. For FamiVault, data never leaves your local network.
2. Absolute Limitation of Liability (MUST READ)
The Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without any warranties of any kind.
Because the Service stores files exclusively on your local device hardware, we have absolutely no access to your files, passwords, or encryption keys. Therefore, under no circumstances will Local Family Vault, its developers, or affiliates be liable for:
- Data Loss: Any accidental or intentional loss of your files, including hardware failure, app deletion, or device loss.
- Forgotten Passwords: Inability to access your vault because you forgot your biometric lock or extra passwords. We cannot recover passwords.
- Corrupted Files: Any data corruption occurring on your device's local storage.
It is your sole responsibility to maintain secure backups of your data. The app provides a Backup Vault feature for this exact purpose.
3. Subscriptions and Payments
Certain features (Pro and Premium tiers) require a subscription. Subscriptions are billed through your respective App Store (Apple App Store or Google Play Store) and are subject to their billing terms and cancellation policies. You must cancel your subscription directly through the App Store.
4. Intellectual Property
The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are and will remain the exclusive property of Local Family Vault and its licensors.
5. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. By continuing to access or use our Service after those revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised terms.
